About Emma Winchester
Emma has wanted to be a physiotherapist ever since she completed her work experience at York District Hospital when she was 14 years old. Some 22 years later her dream finally became a reality; graduating from London Southbank University with an honours degree and 3 children in tow.
Lockdown 2020 provided an ideal opportunity for Emma to complete the Little Birth Company’s hypnobirthing teacher training not least because she loves chatting all things birth and babies. Emma strongly believes that this provides a unique opportunity to educate mums-to-be on their pelvic health ahead of giving birth and provide them with the information they need to navigate birth and the postnatal period. Knowledge is most definitely power as they say.
Emma is delighted to now have the opportunity to work with her lovely and talented sister Abby, the other half of Kin, to bring to life their vision of providing holistic evidence-based care to those in need in their home City of York and surrounding areas.
Outside of Kin Emma is best known as ‘Mummy’ to her three boys. She enjoys family days out, loves CrossFit and running, spending time with her friends and undertaking the odd crazy challenge here and there – a Tough Mudder anyone?
Qualifications
Graduated from London Southbank University with an honours degree and 3 children in tow.
Emma’s work life prior to physio involved a Law degree and being a Chartered Company Secretary in London. They were fun times but physio is where her heart has always been.
Fields of Focus
Right from the off Emma was interested in all things pelvic and women’s health. This was in part due to her own experiences of giving birth and post partum care aligned with a real passion to help and empower women to navigate the changing seasons of their lives. Emma has a slight addiction to furthering her education and has committed significant time to learning from some of the best clinicians in the field.
